Deleting your fsckmsft account is permanent and cannot be undone after the 30-day grace period. Before you proceed, make sure you’ve exported any data you want to keep and transferred ownership of shared resources.
Account deletion is irreversible after the 30-day grace period. Once the grace period expires, all your data is permanently purged from our systems and cannot be recovered under any circumstances.

What happens when you request deletion

When you submit a deletion request, fsckmsft begins a soft-delete process:
  1. Your account is immediately deactivated — you cannot log in or use the service.
  2. Your data is preserved for 30 days in case you change your mind.
  3. Team members in shared workspaces see you as an inactive member.
  4. After 30 days with no cancellation, your account and all associated data are permanently and irreversibly deleted.

What happens to your shared data

Deleting your account affects resources you own or participate in across workspaces:
Resource typeWhat happens
Projects you own (solo workspace)Deleted permanently after the grace period
Projects you own (shared workspace)Ownership is transferred to the Workspace Admin
Documents you authoredRemain in the workspace under Workspace Admin ownership
Tasks assigned to youUnassigned and remain in the project
Automation workflows you createdDisabled and transferred to Workspace Admin
Comments and activity historyAnonymised (attributed to “Deleted User”)
If you are the sole Admin of a workspace, you must either transfer Admin rights to another member or delete the workspace separately before deleting your account.

How to request account deletion

1

Export your data first

Before deleting, download a copy of your data. Go to Settings → Data & Privacy → Export Data. See Export Your Data for step-by-step instructions.
2

Transfer workspace ownership if needed

If you own workspaces with other members, go to Settings → Workspace → Members, promote another member to Admin, then remove yourself.
3

Open account settings

Click your avatar in the top-right corner and select Account Settings.
4

Navigate to 'Danger Zone'

Scroll to the bottom of the Account Settings page to find the Danger Zone section.
5

Click 'Delete Account'

Click the Delete Account button. A confirmation dialog will appear explaining the consequences and the 30-day grace period.
6

Confirm your intent

Type your account email address into the confirmation field to confirm you understand the action is irreversible after 30 days. Click Confirm Deletion.
7

Check your email

You’ll receive a confirmation email with a summary of what will be deleted and the exact date your data will be permanently purged (30 days from now).

How to cancel deletion during the grace period

If you change your mind within 30 days of requesting deletion, you can reactivate your account.
1

Open the reactivation email

Find the deletion confirmation email from noreply@fsckmsft.org. It contains a Cancel Deletion link.
2

Click 'Cancel Deletion'

Click the link in the email. You’ll be taken to a page confirming your account has been reactivated.
3

Log back in

Go to app.fsckmsft.org/login and sign in as usual. Your data is fully restored.
Can’t find the cancellation email? Log in to app.fsckmsft.org — if your account is still within the grace period, you’ll see a banner with a Cancel Deletion button at the top of every page.

After permanent deletion

Once the 30-day grace period expires:
  • All personal data is permanently purged from fsckmsft’s production systems.
  • Backups containing your data are cycled out within 90 days in accordance with our backup retention policy.
  • You will receive a final email confirming that deletion is complete.
  • fsckmsft cannot recover your data after permanent deletion, even if requested.
If you have questions about data deletion or need to request deletion for legal or compliance reasons (e.g. a GDPR erasure request), contact privacy@fsckmsft.org.
