fsckmsft’s search puts everything in your workspace — projects, tasks, documents, and people — a keystroke away. Whether you’re hunting down a specific task or jumping to a project you haven’t touched in weeks, search is almost always the fastest route. You have two ways to open global search:
  • Press Cmd+K (macOS) or Ctrl+K (Windows/Linux) from anywhere in the app.
  • Click the search field in the top bar.
Both open the same command palette. Start typing immediately — results appear as you type, ranked by relevance and recency.

Filtering Results by Type

By default, search returns results from all content types. Use the filter tabs at the top of the search panel to narrow results to a specific type:
FilterWhat it shows
ProjectsAll projects you have access to in the current workspace
TasksIndividual tasks across all projects
DocumentsRich-text documents stored inside projects
PeopleWorkspace members by name or email address
Click a filter tab to restrict results, or use the keyboard: after opening the palette, press Tab to cycle through filter options without leaving the keyboard.
Use special prefixes to filter results as you type — no need to click the filter tabs at all:
  • Type @name to filter by a person (e.g., @alex shows all tasks assigned to Alex).
  • Type #project to filter by project name (e.g., #launch narrows results to items inside any project with “launch” in the name).
You can combine them: #launch @alex returns tasks in launch-related projects assigned to Alex.
Search results aren’t just links — many of them expose inline actions you can trigger without navigating away. Hover over any result (or press Tab to focus it with the keyboard) to reveal a row of quick-action icons:
  • Tasks — Mark complete, change assignee, or update the due date.
  • Projects — Open, star/pin, or archive the project.
  • Documents — Open, duplicate, or share a link.
  • People — View profile or send a direct message.
Press Enter to open the result, or press (right arrow) to expand the quick-action row when using keyboard navigation. If you belong to more than one workspace (for example, your own personal workspace and a client organization), you can switch workspaces without signing out.
1

Open the workspace switcher

Click your workspace name at the top of the left sidebar. A dropdown lists all workspaces associated with your account.
2

Select the target workspace

Click the workspace you want to switch to. The app reloads the sidebar and main content area for that workspace.
3

Use search within the new workspace

Global search is always scoped to the workspace you’re currently in. If you’re looking for something in a different workspace, switch first, then search.
Workspace switching is instant and doesn’t require a full page reload. Your position within each workspace is saved, so switching back and forth doesn’t lose your place.
