Most login problems have a quick fix. Work through the accordion below that matches your situation — each section covers the most common cause and the fastest resolution.
Reset your password directly from the login screen in under two minutes.
1

Go to the login page

2

Click 'Forgot password?'

Click the Forgot password? link below the password field.
3

Enter your account email

Type the email address associated with your fsckmsft account and click Send reset link.
4

Check your inbox

Open the reset email from noreply@fsckmsft.org. The link expires after 1 hour — if it has expired, repeat the process.
5

Set a new password

Click the link in the email and enter a new password. Your password must be at least 12 characters and include a mix of letters, numbers, and symbols.
If the reset email doesn’t arrive within a few minutes, check your spam folder and make sure you’re checking the correct email address. Add noreply@fsckmsft.org to your allowed senders list to avoid future filtering.
Two-factor authentication codes are time-sensitive and depend on your device’s clock being accurate.Check your device clock firstAuthenticator apps (Google Authenticator, Authy, 1Password, etc.) generate codes using the current time. If your device clock is even 30 seconds off, codes will be rejected.
  • iOS/Android: Go to Settings → General → Date & Time and enable Set Automatically.
  • Windows: Right-click the clock → Adjust date/time → enable Set time automatically.
  • macOS: Go to System Settings → General → Date & Time → enable Set time and date automatically.
After syncing, wait for your authenticator to generate a fresh code and try again.Use a backup codeIf your authenticator is unavailable (lost phone, deleted app), use one of the backup codes you saved when you first enabled 2FA.
1

Click 'Use backup code' on the 2FA screen

On the 2FA prompt, click Use a backup code below the code entry field.
2

Enter one of your saved backup codes

Each code can only be used once. Enter it exactly as shown — no spaces.
3

Re-configure your authenticator after logging in

Go to Settings → Security → Two-Factor Authentication and set up your authenticator again to generate a new set of backup codes.
If you have no backup codes and cannot access your authenticator, contact support at support@fsckmsft.org. Account recovery requires identity verification and may take 1–2 business days.
If your organisation uses Single Sign-On (SAML or OIDC) to log in to fsckmsft, errors are almost always caused by a configuration issue in your identity provider (IdP).Common SSO error messages
ErrorLikely cause
Invalid SAML responseAttribute mapping is incorrect in your IdP
User not provisionedYour IdP is not sending the user to fsckmsft
Certificate validation failedThe signing certificate in fsckmsft doesn’t match your IdP
Redirect URI mismatchThe callback URL in your OIDC app is wrong
What to doContact your IT administrator or the person who configured SSO in your organisation. They will need to check the attribute mappings, certificates, and callback URLs in your identity provider’s settings. If you are the administrator setting up SSO, refer to our SSO Configuration Guide or contact support with your IdP logs and the exact error message.
fsckmsft support cannot access your identity provider configuration. SSO issues require coordination between your IT team and fsckmsft support.
