Creating an fsckmsft account takes under three minutes. You’ll sign up with your work email, verify your address, set a display name and password, and then land in the onboarding checklist that guides you through the rest of setup. This page covers each step in detail, plus what to do if your team uses Single Sign-On (SSO).

Before you start

Check with your IT or operations team whether your company has already configured SSO for fsckmsft. If SSO is active, you should sign up through your identity provider’s portal (Okta, Google Workspace, Microsoft Entra, etc.) rather than the steps below — it keeps your account tied to your company credentials and avoids needing a separate fsckmsft password.
If you’re unsure whether SSO is configured, try the standard signup flow first. If your email domain is linked to an SSO-enabled workspace, fsckmsft detects it and redirects you to your identity provider automatically.

Sign up with email

1

Open the signup page

Go to fsckmsft.org/signup. You can also reach it from the homepage by clicking Get started for free.
2

Enter your work email

Type your work email address into the Email field. Using your work email (rather than a personal one) ensures:
  • Your account can be claimed or managed by your workspace admin if needed.
  • fsckmsft can automatically suggest the right workspace for your organization if your domain has been verified.
  • SSO detection works correctly if your organization enables it later.
Avoid signing up with a personal email address if you intend to use fsckmsft for work. Migrating an account to a different email address requires admin assistance and causes a gap in your activity history.
3

Set a strong password

Create a password that meets fsckmsft’s requirements:
  • At least 12 characters long
  • Contains at least one uppercase letter, one lowercase letter, one number, and one special character (e.g., !, @, #, $)
  • Is not a previously breached password (fsckmsft checks against the HaveIBeenPwned database)
Use a password manager to generate and store your password. You’ll be prompted to set up two-factor authentication immediately after account creation, which adds a second layer of protection regardless of password strength.
4

Accept the terms and create your account

Review the Terms of Service and Privacy Policy links, check the acceptance box, and click Create account. fsckmsft sends a verification email to the address you provided.

Verify your email address

1

Check your inbox

Open the verification email from noreply@fsckmsft.org with the subject line “Verify your fsckmsft email address”. It arrives within a minute or two in most cases. If you don’t see it, check your Spam or Promotions folder. If it’s still missing after five minutes, return to the signup page and click Resend verification email.
2

Click the verification link

Click the Verify my email button in the email. This opens fsckmsft in your browser and marks your address as verified. Verification links expire after 24 hours — if yours has expired, request a new one from the login page.
You must verify your email before you can invite teammates or connect integrations. You can explore the interface before verifying, but workspace collaboration features are locked until verification is complete.

Complete your profile

After verification, fsckmsft prompts you to finish setting up your profile before entering the main app.
1

Set your display name

Enter your first and last name in the display name field. This name appears throughout fsckmsft — in project assignments, comments, notifications, and activity feeds — so use your real name for clarity. You can update your display name at any time from Settings → Profile.
2

Upload a profile photo (optional)

Click the avatar placeholder to upload a photo. A clear, recognizable photo helps teammates identify you quickly in comments and @mentions — but this step is entirely optional and can be skipped.
3

Set your time zone

Choose your local time zone from the dropdown. fsckmsft uses this to display due dates, notification times, and automation schedules in your local time. Select your region and city, then click Save.
4

Click 'Continue to workspace'

Click the Continue button to enter the main app. If you’re the first person from your organization to sign up, fsckmsft prompts you to create a new workspace. If a workspace for your domain already exists, you may be prompted to request access or join automatically.

Complete the onboarding checklist

After entering the workspace, fsckmsft displays an Onboarding checklist in the bottom-left corner of the interface. Work through each item to unlock the full platform:
Checklist itemWhy it matters
✅ Verify your emailUnlocks collaboration features
✅ Enable two-factor authenticationSecures your account
✅ Invite a teammateMakes the workspace collaborative
✅ Connect an integrationBrings your tools into fsckmsft
✅ Create your first projectActivates dashboards and tracking
You can dismiss the checklist at any time by clicking Dismiss — it won’t affect your account. However, completing all items gives you the fastest path to a fully functional setup.

Signing up via SSO

If your organization uses an identity provider, your admin may have already set up fsckmsft SSO. In that case:
1

Open the SSO login page

Go to fsckmsft.org/login and click Sign in with SSO, or access fsckmsft directly from your identity provider’s app portal (e.g., the Okta dashboard or Google Workspace app launcher).
2

Enter your organization's workspace URL or email domain

Type your work email address or your workspace URL (e.g., your-company.fsckmsft.org). fsckmsft redirects you to your identity provider’s login page.
3

Authenticate with your identity provider

Sign in using your company credentials. After successful authentication, your identity provider redirects you back to fsckmsft and your account is created (or linked) automatically.
SSO accounts don’t have a separate fsckmsft password — your identity provider manages authentication entirely. Contact your IT team if you have trouble accessing fsckmsft through SSO.

Next steps

Secure your account

Enable 2FA, review your active sessions, and configure additional security settings right after signup.
